Making memories

This beautiful family are really good friends of mine. Best friends actually! But they live in Wolverhampton. So imagine my delight when they told me they were going to make the three hour trip to have me capture some special memories for them!

They are such an active family - Mum and Dad both train (he competes in Ironman triathlons) and the kids take part in every sport going. They are so busy that they often forget to take photos and Lisa was really keen to sort this out!

I took them to one of my favourite spots close to where I live. It was the height of summer and we were a bit before golden hour but late enough for the sun to cast a lovely golden glow. The meadow grasses were long and beautiful, swaying in the summer breeze (they were mowed the following week so we were lucky!).

The thing with these style shoots is that they themselves should become a happy memory - it’s time as a family, doing something fun, and you just so happen to have a photographer tagging along to capture it for you!

This pair actually met when they were 10 years old, got together when they were 15, and have been inseparable ever since. Now married with their two gorgeous kiddiwinks, and both hitting 40 in the not too distant future, they’ve been together longer than they haven’t.

We were laughing about how having children means that in those early years when the kids are little, you are constantly in parent mode and are consumed by the love you have for them, so much so that you can often forget just how much you love each other. They look like they’ve still got it to me! It’s always there, sometimes you just have to sit next to each other in the middle of a massive field for a couple of minutes to remember...
